Theoretical proposal to obtain strong Majorana evidence from scanning tunneling spectroscopy of a vortex with a dissipative environment

چکیده

It is predicted that a vortex in topological superconductor contains Majorana zero mode (MZM). The confirmative signature, i.e., the $2{e}^{2}/h$ quantized conductance, however, easily sabotaged by unavoidable interruptions, e.g., instrument broadening, non-Majorana signal, and extra particle channels. To avoid these we propose to obtain strong evidence following our novel hunting protocol relies on dissipation introduced disorders at, sample-substrate interface. Within this protocol, highlight three features, each of which alone can provide identify MZM. First, suppresses finite-energy Caroli-de Gennes-Matricon (CdGM) conductance peak into valley, while it does not split MZM zero-bias (ZBCP). Second, predict dissipation-dependent scaling feature ZBCP. Third, manifests signal suppressing nontopological CdGM modes. Importantly, observation features require value $2{e}^{2}/h$.

Multidimensional vibrational spectroscopy for tunneling processes in a dissipative environment.

Simulating tunneling processes as well as their observation are challenging problems for many areas. In this study, we consider a double-well potential system coupled to a heat bath with a linear-linear (LL) and square-linear (SL) system-bath interactions. The LL interaction leads to longitudinal (T1) and transversal (T2) homogeneous relaxations, whereas the SL interaction leads to the inhomoge...

A theoretical model for single-molecule incoherent scanning tunneling spectroscopy

Single-molecule scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS), with dephasing due to elastic and inelastic scattering, is of some current interest. Motivated by this, we report an extended Hückel theory (EHT)-based mean-field non-equilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) transport model with electron–phonon scattering treated within the self-consistent Born approximation (SCBA). Furthermore, a procedure base...

Exactly solvable model of dissipative vortex tunneling

I consider the problem of vortex tunneling in a two-dimensional superconductor. The vortex dynamics is governed by the Magnus force and the Ohmic friction force. Under-barrier motion in the vicinity of the saddle point of the pinning potential leads to a model with quadratic Hamiltonian which can be analytically diagonalized. I find a non-monotonic dependence of the tunneling probability on the...
